If there is anything TPLF is best at , then it must be the art of pretension.
Undoubtedly, TPLF is a master pretender. recently, we witnessed this abominable
character of TPLF taking a new turn, as seen on the Swedish television, SVT.
Well, it is quite obvious why western powers turn a blind eye to the plight of
the Ethiopian people under the TPLF dictatorship masked behind the nominal state
apparatus of democratic federalism. But it is hard to discern why the western media
at times happens to be accessory to TPLFs shameless propaganda.
The said TV report alleges that the government was granting farmers with Land
Ownership Certificates and that this move would transform the lives of Ethiopian
farmers for the better. The report also says that the certificate would entitle
the farmers to rent or sale their plots. This is absolutely ridiculous! In the TPLF
Ethiopia, the only body entitled to rent sale or lease land is the TPLF itself,
not the Ethiopian farmers. Thus, the reality is quite contrary to the story reported
on Aktuellt. The TPLF led government is amassing a huge amount of money in lease
payments from foreign investors for the fertile lands it snatched from the poor
farmers. Generally the TV report stops short of praising this action of the
government as the right step taken toward expediting agricultural development.
The program producer has not even bothered to balance the report by incorporating
the critical views of local experts. Nor did she care to remind that it is the
misguided and ill-advised policies of the incumbent TPLF government that lead over
16 millions of Ethiopians to face starvation today.
The program producer is not even bothered to balance the report by incorporating
As if the denial of their land ownership right is not enough, TPLF is adding insults
to Ethiopian farmers injury by forcing them to act as a puppets to its shameless
propaganda drama. It is quite clear that the TPLF propagandists has played a major
role ,behind the scene,in the production of this TV report. One can imagine that the
farmers shown in the report must have been interviewed in the presence of Woyane cadres.
I have to say that this report was not at all worthy of being aired by such esteemed
TV station as SVT which enjoys press freedom to the full extent of the law.
Such a cheap and unprofessional propaganda material was expected to have been
by aired by ETV, the mouth piece of Woyane, not by SVT. At any rate the editor
of Aktuellt owe us (all Ethiopians in Sweden and in Ethiopia) an explanation
for what made her commit this blunder.
